LOST//FOUND: A Found Percussion Commissioning Initiative

LOST//FOUND is a percussion chamber music project that centers on found-object percussion, transforming everyday materials into instruments through newly commissioned works. The project introduces a rare and visually striking type of performance to East Lansing and the surrounding communities with financial support from the MSU Running Start Entrepreneurship Competition Grant.

Unlike traditional percussion concerts, audiences may not be familiar with what instruments they are about to hear, immediately setting the performances apart and inviting curiosity. LOST//FOUND emphasizes close, immersive concert settings where listeners can see, hear, and engage with sound in a new way, helping build local culture around contemporary percussion music.
